Kganki Matabane

Chairman

Kganki is currently the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of the Black Business Council, an umbrella body of black business in South Africa. He also occupied the position of Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director at Sentech SOC Ltd. He is a highly experienced and seasoned business executive with over 25 years operational and strategy execution experience, including doing business in more than 10 countries in the African continent, covering the telecommunications, policy, power utilities, rail logistics, motor retail, Bus Rapid Transport and mining sectors.

Kganki, who started his career as an interim teacher/educator, is a highly accomplished public and private sector business professional who managed Profit and Loss, have served as both Executive and Non-Executive Director. He served with diligence and continues to serve as a member of board committees such as EXCO, Audit, Finance and Risk, Social and Ethics, Transformation as well as Human Resources and Remuneration committees.

He is a highly influential networker and sought-after speaker who is a thought leader on socio-economic issues of national and international significance and importance.

His academic standing includes a Masters in Business Leadership, Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and a Baccalaureus Technologiae (B-Tech) degree in Cost and Management Accounting.

Silas Mokoele

Chief Executive Officer

Silas graduated with a National Higher Diploma in Extraction Metallurgy from the University of Johannesburg in 1997 as well as a Management Development Programme from Witwatersrand University in 2004.

Silas is a seasoned and experienced Metallurgical specialist and consummate professional. He has extensive experience of more than 27 years in mine and metallurgical processes, process engineering, operational strategy, operational management, community engagement, SMMEs development and overall mining value chain as well as supply chain.

His vast experience, at senior and executive management level, was acquired at major mining companies; Anglo American Platinum (Amplats), African Rainbow Minerals and Atlatsa Resources. He managed both brownfield and greenfield operations with high level of success across all levels of the business, participating in budgeting, long term plans and corporate strategy.

He has an immense experience in Gold processing and Smelting, acquired at JCI. He spent a large part of his career at Amplats managing concentrating process, smelting process for both base and precious metals refinery processes. He has also done a lot of work in Chrome processing in terms of designs and processing.

He has special interests in mine development, mineral resource ownership and mineral resource licensing, support and consulting for small scale and junior miners in their commercialization endevours.

Silas is a founder member of Ayana Group, a minerals resource company that has interests in various minerals covering refractory, heavy minerals, rare minerals, Chrome, Coal, diamonds, PGM’s and base metals. He also owns and run Ayana Operations, the company that specialises in steel fabrication, asset care and maintenance - for a number of clients in both private sector and public sectors.

Silas is a member of Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM) and The Mine Metallurgical Managers Association of South Africa (MMMA). He also served as a council member of the MMMA.

Kagiso Kubyane

Director Mineral Resources

Kagiso Kubyana holds a Degree, Bachelor of Science in Earth Science and Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Geology - Rand Afrikaans University.
Kagiso has 20 years geology and mining experience that includes: Prospecting & Mining Right Applications, Public Participation Processes, Application for Environmental Authorization, Geophysical Surveys, Management of Exploration Programs which include, Exploration Planning, Exploration Drilling, Geological Logging and Sampling, Database Management, Geological Modelling, Mine Planning, Mine Geology and Production Management, Mineral Resource and Reserve Estimation, and Mineral Resource Management and Project Management.

His skills and experience include exposure in a wide range of minerals such as, base metals copper, cobalt, vanadium and chrome, platinum, diamonds, coal, iron ore, manganese and gold.

Kagiso worked for companies such as New Diamonds Corporation, Trans Hex Group, Etruscan Diamonds, Namakwa Diamonds, Harmony Gold, Xstrata (Presently known as Glencore). He worked at Anglo American Platinum (Amplats) as a Contract Exploration Geologist, under Caracle Creek International.

He has also worked as a Consulting at Lonmim Platinum, BMJ Resources Pty Ltd, BMJ, Hwange Colliery-Zimbabwe Vaalkranz Colliery, Teyakhani Mining, Hoshoza Colliery and Kwasa Coal Mine.

Elton Maswanganyi

Director Research and Projects Development

Elton graduated with Baccalaureus Technologiae from Vaal University of Technology in 2013. HE has vast experience and knowledge in PGM and Chromite beneficiation processes, ranging from HMS, DMS, Spirals, WHIMS, Flotation and other metallurgical processes.

Elton was instrumental in introducing the XRT Sorting technology in chromite beneficiation. He conducting the first ever successful XRT Sorting test work on a MG2 and LG6 chromite ore body. He played a hug technical role in the installation and commissioning of one of the two first Sorting Plants in the Eastern Limb.

He has a strong operations background, was instrumental in the operations and optimizing 10 beneficiation plants. Involved in commissioning of 3, rescuing of 2 and managing of 5 chromite plants. Elton was never shy of challenging plants, thus was always able to turn the worse performing plants into the most consistence and best performing plants.

Elton has worked for the following companies, Sylvania Metals, Samancor Chrome and Sail Group. He is currently the CEO of Menton FUCO and the Director of Research and Projects Development of Ayana Group of Companies.

Robert Moseme

Head of Mining

Robert Moseme is a founder and CEO of Lower Quartile Technologies, a strategic partnership of Ayana Group. He holds a BSc. Mining Engineering degree and a Graduate Diploma in Mineral Resource Management from the University of the Witwatersrand. Has also completed an MBA from the University of Pretoria, Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS). He is an accredited Professional Engineer through the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).

Robert has held various positions as mining engineer within these companies, with day to day functions including mine planning, mine design, 3D Modelling, scheduling and estimating, open pit optimisation, cost models generation, mine contracting and construction, bench-marking, independent technical review, reserve audits, mining contract’s review, business development, growth Strategy, due diligence and CPRs. Robert has had exposure to both open pit and underground mining methods relating to the platinum group metals, uranium, coal, chrome, diamond, zinc, lead, phosphate, copper, bauxite, graphite, cobalt, gold and nickel environments.

Johan Strydom

CEO

Johan graduated with Baccalaureus Technologiae in Power Engineering from Tshwane University of Technology in 2008. In his final year at University he started working in town electrical reticulation projects and after 12 months moved to Mining, Process Plants and Water projects. He registered as a Professional Engineering Technologist with the Engineering Council of South Africa in 2011 and was successfully re-assessed in 2016. In 2013, he also became a member of The South African Institute of Electrical Engineers. He has worked on countless projects in the mining industry and is currently the CEO of P2E Consulting.

Craig Meadway

Business Development Executive

Craig graduated with a Baccalaureus Technologiae in Mechanical Engineering from the Tshwane University of Technology in 2003 and has filled various roles that include engineering and management positions. Craig has worked in numerous industries including Mining R&D, Materials Handling, Water & Wastewater and Process Plant Design before ending up at Outotec where he was Manager of Equipment Supply Projects. In 2015 he started P2E to offer turnkey projects to the mining industry.

Mylin Pather

Metallurgical Manager

Mylin graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Natal University in 1988, holds a Metallurgical Engineering Diploma, MDP and a safety accreditation from Du Pont. He has strong Metallurgical operational based experience spanning 31 years, working for Anglo American, BHP, Amava Chrome, Samancor and currently P2E Consulting. His passion and interests lie in mineral beneficiation and applying best fit technology to maximise recovery and reduce cost of production. He was heavily involved in the commissioning of the first WHIMS and XRT sorting plants in the Chrome space within South Africa. His key focus is on mineral beneficiation from waste streams, low grade ore bodies and the application of environmentally friendly technologies.
